Join us to cultivate the skill of self-compassion - an eight-week course
Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is an empirically supported training programme designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. MSC provides a powerful tool for emotional resilience by combining the practices and skills of mindfulness and self-compassion. Mindfulness practice provides a stable landscape whereas self-compassion is the action of bringing gentle and kind action to your experience.
The three key components of self-compassion are:
Research shows that self-compassion is strongly associated with emotional wellbeing, reduced anxiety, depression and stress, maintenance of healthy habits such as diet and exercise and more satisfying personal relationships.
MSC can be learned by anyone. It’s the practice of repeatedly evoking good will toward ourselves especially when we’re suffering. Improvements were linked to how much a person practiced mindfulness and self-compassion in their daily lives.
Wednesday evenings: 12, 19 October, 2, 9, 16. 23, 30 November, 7 December plus a half day of practice 27 November
Cost: £200, concessions £150 (includes all 8 sessions and half day of practice, course handbook, downloads/CDs). Our concessionary rate is for full-time students and those who are unemployed.
