Wednesdays 28th February - 28th March (5 sessions) 11.00am – 12.00pm
This super gentle course of Pilates exercises is especially designed for absolute beginners of any age or those returning to fitness after injury or illness. The exercises help you to connect with your body while improving posture, balance, core strength and coordination, promoting enhanced feeling of wellbeing and relaxation.
More and more of us are turning to Pilates, often following a recommendation from a doctor or physiotherapist, to help on the road to recovery, or as a preventative tool in reducing injury. The practice is also used for maintaining mobility and health.
Pilates supports the mind as well as the body, by encouraging us to think of the whole body. The exercises are progressive, but also offer different levels within each exercise, meaning that they can be easily adapted for the less able and readily progressed for the more athletic person.
Breathing is an important part of the fitness process. Using the breath in conjunction with the exercises promotes mental calmness while aiding in the process of strengthening the cardio vascular function of the body.
Cathy Baynes is a Level 3 Pilates Instructor, UK CC Level 2 Coach and BHS qualified Instructor. 1-2-1 and private group sessions are available by arrangement.
