Patricia FlemingWe all have a story to tell! Everyone can benefit from being heard and from hearing the stories of others, whether for pleasure, interest or as a way of processing a particular difficulty.  Guided writing in response to a themed prompt such as a poem, picture or object can stimulate imagination, insight and discussion - as well as the opportunity for creativity.

Come and see how a therapeutic approach to creative writing can provide an easily accessible way of gently exploring some of life's questions, in a supportive and friendly group. What matters is not what you write or how you write it, just that you have some time to reflect on how you feel, and have the opportunity to express those feelings in a written format.  Working within a safe and respectful space opens the door to new voices, ideas and points of view that widen and deepen our own perspective.

It is important to stress that no previous knowledge or experience of writing is needed and your writing is not judged or marked in any way.  It is just a way of you being able to express yourself in the way that suits you - or try ways that might be new to you.  Journaling techniques are also introduced as a useful self-care tool, and all you need is a notebook and pen.

Patricia Fleming is a qualified practitioner in Writing for Wellbeing, with a First Class honours degree in Creative Writing and a Post-graduate Certificate in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes.
