Community Wellbeing Notice Board

Here you will find the latest on our Community Wellbeing Projects!

The Community Wellbeing series is a selection of 4-week courses, monthly drop-ins and our new monthly peer support group Feel Good Thursdays. Each session is designed to help people living with anxiety, depression, social isolation, bereavement, trauma and any other life circumstances that are affecting their wellbeing. You may be referred to us by a health professional but we do also accept self-referrals.

The Community Wellbeing courses are always a lot of fun and we're delighted to see so many returning faces! The sense of friendship that is fostered during these courses is one of the reasons we love putting them on. It's hard not to come away feeling more at peace with yourself.

“So helpful, unlike anything else offered. Tutor was fabulous, felt very comfortable, generally amazing.”

A fundamental element of community involvement in TIF’s services is its relationship with partner organisations who refer clients to The Isbourne. Working with support workers and tapping in to their close contact to those in need, TIF is able to shape the provision of its services and evolve with the needs of the community. This term our focus has been creativity as a way to support mental health.

COMMUNITY WELLBEING TUTOR MEET UP!

In October our lovely tutors were invited to a community wellbeing tutor meet up as a thank you for all their hard work. We reflected on the courses we've been running over the past two years, sharing experiences, reconnecting with one another and looking to the future.

We have lots of exciting things to come - so watch this space!

JULY 2022 - FEEL GOOD THURSDAYS (FGT)

Today at FGT we were joined by tai chi and qi gong practitioner Max Watkins as he guided us through a sequence of 18 movements. This simple movement sequence helped lift everyone's mood and got us moving.

CONNECTING TO YOUR INTUITION THROUGH COLLAGE

As part of our Community Wellbeing series we recently completed a 4-week course with Beth Forrester an artist, intuitive counsellor and dream therapist. Beth invited the group to engage in intuitive listening before selecting images to create these intuitive collages.

Beth is lovely, kind and attentive. The course gave me permission to take time out for me and be creative. Being on a low budget it was great to attend a course for free. It was a 'safe space'.

FEEL GOOD THURSDAYS (FGT)

Each month we hold an informal community wellbeing support group FEEL GOOD THURSDAYS at The Isbourne.

This month we welcomed community wellbeing facilitator Sue Rabbich to share with us the benefits of reflexology.

QEL Certification!

Since 2022, TIF’s QEL certification has been applied to Community Wellbeing courses, providing assurance of quality education to referral organisations and enhancing the achievement for clients by awarding certificates on completion of each course.

National Lottery Community Fund 2020 - 21

We were delighted to be given a grant by the National Lottery Community Fund that allowed us to produce a series of courses during the Coronavirus pandemic in 2020/21. The courses were delivered on Zoom and participants were able to join in as much or as little as they wanted.
