BREATHING FUNDAMENTALS FOR PELVIC FLOOR FUNCTION

Vicki McCordall

This workshop is all about how the way you breathe, stand and move, is closely related to the full working of your pelvic floor, and how they need to work together for proper function. Based on the most recent scientific knowledge in the field of pelvic floor health, professionals understand that your breathing basics need to be in place before any kind of specific exercises and training is implemented. In many cases, this alone can really improve the symptoms you are experiencing.

Whether or not you or someone you know may suffer from any degree of pelvic floor or breathing dysfunction, this course is for you.  You will learn so much more than just do your Kegel exercises!

The course will cover how the respiratory muscles and pelvic floor are related to each other, and how they need to work fully together for proper function.  Dysfunction in one area could be impacting another.  We will also look at posture and alignment and lifestyle pointers, as well as learning how to activate and relax your pelvic floor. There will be simple exercises which can be incorporated into your day, plus a couple of suggested easy routines to follow to keep symptoms in check.  The workshop will also cover specific breathing exercises for some prolapse conditions.

Attendees will learn about empowering yourself and learning some fundamentals about the body and breathing that you can implement immediately.  This will have a positive effect on many areas of your life, and could help reduce some of the embarrassing  symptoms you are experiencing.

Take away a much better understanding of how your breathing quality affects your pelvic floor function, and what you can do yourself immediately, and without any cost, to improve both.  You will also be given a sample daily exercise routine that takes no more than 10 minutes, and simple lifestyle adjustments that you can also implement immediately without incurring any additional costs.

For this event, you will need to bring your own:

  • Yoga Mat (if you have one)
  • Cushion
  • Refreshments (water bottle and a snack)

Drop-ins can not be accommodated at this time so please book in advance.

As a wellbeing and educational charity, The Isbourne aims to make its courses and workshops accessible to all regardless of income. We have researched how other organisations fund their courses and come up with a three tier pricing system:

Supported rate: this fee is less than the Standard and allows anyone with financial challenges to still participate. You do not have to show proof, this is offered on trust. This price is limited to one per transaction.

Standard rate: this is how much we would like all participants to pay as it covers The Isbourne costs and supports the tutor.
Sponsor rate: this is a little more than the Standard fee and allows you to subsidise and support others who might not be able to pay the Standard fee.

You choose what tier of payment best suits you - no questions asked!
