Jane Macpherson

Specialising in Yoga Therapy for mental and physical issues, one-to-one therapeutic sessions, groups and corporate yoga classes.

Jane is a fully qualified senior yoga teacher and a registered member of the International Yoga Alliance (IYA 500 hours). She is also a qualified yoga therapist and a director of the Yoga Therapy Association.

With enthusiasm and humour, Jane teaches all abilities and ages and has a special interest in the remedial aspects of yoga. Her classes (group and private) encourage the student to realise their full potential, combining the practice of the asanas (postures) and the use of yogic breathing (pranayama) and other yogic techniques such as meditation and Yoga Nidra. Through this her students experience a strengthening and flexing of the body and a stillness of the mind.

Yoga therapy

Yoga therapy is the personalised application of yoga techniques to fit the current needs and interests of the individual.

Yoga therapy may be used to:

  • reduce symptoms of illness or injury
  • establish more functional breath and movement patterns
  • reduce physical and mental suffering
  • improve quality of life.

Is it just for people with specific problems?

No – yoga therapy can of course assist in alleviating pain and discomfort but also can be an ideal introduction to yoga for a beginner or for a more advanced student to help deepen their knowledge of yoga.

How long is a yoga therapy session and what can I expect?

The initial session lasts for 1.5 hours. Any follow-up sessions are for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
