Vicki McCordall

Specialising in Breathing Fundamentals and Hypopressive Breathing

Vicki McCordall is a Level 1 Certified Hypopressive Breathing Instructor, a method combining specific breathing techniques, postural alignment and targeted exercises to reduce intra-abdominal pressure, rehabilitate the pelvic floor and strengthen the core.  It’s a method used routinely postpartum in European countries, including Belgium, Spain and France, and is becoming more widely used in the USA and Canada.

Sessions, usually run on a one to one basis, or small group, work on elements of postural alignment, gently stretching the fascia, engaging full use of your breathing muscles and using a specific breathing technique to reduce intra-abdomal pressure and naturally strengthen the pelvic floor.  A few simple postures are sequenced to increase connection and engagement of the pelvic floor and deep core muscles.

Vicki is also an Advanced Breathing Instructor with the Oxygen Advantage, a science based breathing system, which helps clients to restore good breathing as a foundational tool for health.  It reconnects breathing with the body’s natural design – optimizing oxygen use, calming the mind, reducing the symptoms of stress & anxiety, improving focus & concentration, and improving sleep quality and recovery, amongst other functions.  Rooted in decades of research, and designed for everyone, it transforms how the body breathes, moves and performs – helping individuals achieve calm, control, and clarity through the breath.

Coming from a yoga background, (Vicki is also a 200-hour RYS Yoga Alliance teacher (2020)), all of her work is centred around the breath, and how this helps to shape your experiences and improve your health.  Vicki also employs key breathing techniques to assist in her passion for cold-water immersion and its potential health benefits, from reducing inflammation and boosting metabolism to supporting stress resilience.

Vicki works with clients experiencing a variety of symptoms,  from diverse backgrounds, and different ages.  She teaches classes in Cheltenham and Gloucester and offers private sessions and workshops from The Isbourne Centre in Cheltenham.  Online options are also available.
